	Arouty/Pardo Family of Monastir In the book "A Town Called Monastir" on page 203, are some pictures of the "Ozer Dalim" synagogue in Monastir. The picture at the bottom of the page has a plaque showing the dedication. The last two lines show the name Isaac Arouty in Hebrew, identifying him as one of the founders of the congregation. [This is the nephew of my grandfather who was also Isaac Arouty.]   Arouty sometimes appears as also spelled Arout and Aruti. According to family lore, a nephew of this Isaac Arouty—also named Isaac Arouty— was a founder of the Ozer Dalim synagogue in Monastir. There were five children: Anna, Max, Esther, Sam, Jack. *Anna Arouty *Max Arouty Max and his brother-in-law Teddy Semaya were partners in business—S&A Sportswear, which did business at 547 Broadway, in New York City. *Esther Arouty -m. *Theodore ("Teddy") Semaya Esther and Theodore met on the ship "coming over." They married seven years later. "Teddy" was a member of the Bezalel-Semaya family. Teddy and Esther's brother Max were partners in business—S&A Sportswear, which did business at 547 Broadway, in New York City. Ike Semaya -m.
