They had come to the US separately with their families in the wave of emigration of 1912ce, sparked by the Balkan War. They had five children: Sophie, Jack, Ralph, Morris, Betty. The family settled on Allen Street (103) in the Lower East Side of Manhattan, then moved to New Lots when Ralph was 12 years old. Sophie Hasson -m. Izzie Passo Jack Hasson -m. Esther's brother was YomTov Albaranes. Sarah was afflicted by the deadly form of lupus, passed away at the young age of 32. He had been widowed by the early passing of his first wife, and had two daughters. Betty is a daughter of Bohora Yousha and David BenYakar. According to them, it was love at first sight.
